Identification of Skills needs and Training by Elder Caregivers

iek akmi eldicareEldiCare aims to design and setting up of a common curriculum in the elderly care sector, while establishing a strong work-based learning with a mobility component, addressing learning outcomes, quality assurance and proper recognition for elderly care-givers.

  • As a main result Eldicare will improve the key competencies and skill level of caregivers especially with regards to the quality of services provided to older people, bridging the gap between the world of education and training, creating new better jobs and maximizing employment opportunities.
  • Creation / development and implementation of an educational & certified training VET program: EldiCare project will combine the growing need for long-term care for the elderly by providing quality and certified care of caregivers coming from the European Union or Third countries.
  • Reduction of undeclared work in the sector and facilitation of social inclusion providing better jobs for the employed and a better quality of life for the elderly.
  • Certification accompanied by a psychometric tool that is going to ensure the appropriateness and mental health of elderly care givers, is going to contribute towards minimizing phenomena of disorders and bad behaviour of care workers towards the elderly.
